Step 1: Install and Activate the Plugin & Addon
To get started, firstly you need to install the WPForms plugin to your WordPress website.
Once WPForms is installed, you need to have the Plus plan or higher of WPForms to get access to the Mailchimp addon. You can get a WPForms Plus License at a discounted price by clicking here.
Once you’ve purchased the license key, just head to WPForms >>Settings from your WordPress dashboard and verify the license key to get started.
Next, go to WPForms>>Add-ons page and activate the Mailchimp addon.
Step 2: Create a New Form
Once the Mailchimp addon is activated, we need to create a new form. For this, head over to WPForms >> Add a new page and select the Newsletter Signup Form template.
Clicking the Newsletter Signup Form box will bring you to the next window:
WPForms provides a form builder where you can edit any form field. You can also add new fields by simply drag and drop from the left column.
Also, make sure to add the GDPR Agreement field to your Mailchimp signup form. It helps your site visitors to agree to you storing their contact information and sending them email marketing materials.
To use GDPR form field, go to WPForms >> Settings and click on the GDPR Enhancements checkbox.
Once, you’ve configured settings, click the Save button.
Step 3: Connect Mailchimp to Your form
Once the form is created, it’s time to connect it to PayPal.
For this, head over to Marketing >> Mailchimp and click on the click Add New Connection.
Next, give any name to your form and click the OK button.
Now, you’ll need to add your Mailchimp API Key to connect your account. For this, go to sign in to your Mailchimp account or create a new one if you don’t have any.
To find your API key, go to Your Profile >> Extras >> API Keys.
Copy and paste this key into WPForms and click on Add New Connection to confirm.
Once you connect your API key, configure the following settings:
- Select your Mailchimp account from the dropdown.
- Select the email list where you want to add your subscribers.
- Click on the other list fields you want to add to your Mailchimp account when visitors subscribe.
- Enable Conditional Logic and double optin option if needed.
Once you’re done, click on the Save button.
Step 4: Set up Your Subscriber Form’s Notifications
By default, your form’s notifications settings will be “ON”, which means you’ll receive a notification when someone submits a form on your website.
Step 5: Configure Your Subscribe Form Confirmation Setting
After configuring notification settings, it’s time to set up your form’s confirmation message.
To do this, head over to Settings >> Confirmation in your form’s editor. Next, select the type of confirmation you would like to create. For example, I’ll select the Message.
Now you can go ahead and add your form to your website.
Step 6: Add and Publish Mailchimp Subscribe Form
Now you have created the subscribe form, so the final step is to add it to your website. You can add it anywhere on your sites like pages, posts, or sidebar.
For this, go to Page >>Add New to create a new page.
Now, select your subscribe form from the dropdown and add it to your page.
Now, hit the publish button to make your form page live on your blog.
