Step 1: Install and Activate OptinMonster Plugin
To get started, you’ll need to install and activate the Optinmonster plugin on your WordPress website.
Once you successfully installed the plugin, it’s time to connect your Optinmonster account.
Remember, you’ll need to buy the Pro Plan of Optinmonster for access to the Countdown Timers feature.
Step 2: Create a New Campaign
Once you’ve connected Optinmonster to your WordPress website, it’s time to create a Countdown campaign.
For this, click on the “Create New Campaign” button on the top right corner of your Optinmonster account.
To create the campaign, choose the Floating Bar option.
On the next page, you’ll see more than 50 campaign templates. Simply select the “Countdown” template that you’ll need to create your campaign and click on the “Use Template” button to select it.
Once you have selected a template, give your campaign a name and choose what site you want to load this campaign on. Then, click the Start Building button.
Once you’re done, click on the “Start Building” button to proceed further.
Step 3: Customize Your Campaign
Now, you’ll be redirected to the Optinmonster campaign builder interface along with the default Countdown campaign.
The first thing you’ll do here is to change the position of your notification bar to the top of your screen. To do this, click ‘Floating Settings’ on the left-hand side editor.
Next, click the toggle switch to move the floating bar to the top of the screen.
Once the position is updated, it’s time to customize the floating bar to look the way you want. Editing the campaigns is an easy process as it integrates the visual editor interface.
For this, simply click on the text you want to modify and the editor will open on the left-hand side.

Here, you can set your end date and time and can also customize the text, font styles, and color of your campaign.
Once you are done with the editing, click on the “Save” button and proceed further.
Step 4: Choose Display Settings
The next step is to set up display rules for your countdown timer campaign.
By default, the display rule is set at 5 seconds to display after the visitor has been on the page.
Once you’re done with display rules, click on the ‘Next step’ button.
Step 5: Choose Email Integration
In order to collect email addresses, you need to connect your campaign to your email service provider.
To add your email integration, click the Integrations tab on the top menu. Then click the Add New Integration button in the left-hand side panel and connect your preferred service provider with it.
Don’t forget to Save your campaign!
Step 6: Add and Publish Countdown Timer Popup to Your Website
After configuring your countdown timer campaign, it’s time to add it to your website. For this, click on the “Publish” tab and toggle the Status option to Live.
