Independent people naturally tend to be a little more confident on handling issues affecting their lives. This is mainly because they are more prepared to take actions and do things without having to wait for support or permission from someone else. Being independent therefore means that you will be more likely to try out new things that you want, rather than what or how you are expected to. This also means that you will have more experience than a less independent individual.
Once we’ve attained growth in our respective fields, all we require is to zero fear to move ahead and make our marks. One should decide early in life, the ways to live independent, so as to swim in the depth of your dreams. You need to have faith in yourself and moreover, the belief that you can achieve what you’ve aimed for, in the technicality of things, never lose yourself and the fact that you’ve all you got, that is exactly why I’ll be talking about ways how to be independent, with my 13 pointer list,
How to Be Live Independent
1. Voicing your opinion
From an early age, attain the habit of voicing out your views. Do not meekly surrender to rules, life is a tough deal and you need to understand its ways and mold yourself into an individual that is well informed and have strong opinions about the bitter reality of our society. Stand up for things you believe is wrong, begin to change your household and surroundings first, you’d help a lot of people, I can assure you.
2. Working hard
You have a goal, your aim is real high, but dreams are just dreams until you work upon them. If you wish to be independent in life, you need to achieve your goals, so that people believe in you, and also praise you for being a strong willed person. Once you put in all you’ve got, you’d never lose and that is a promise.
3. Set clear boundaries
Set clear boundaries that prioritize your own needs. For example, set boundaries with regards to as how much time you spend with someone, or the kinds of criticisms you are not willing to hear. Be sure you have other things going on in your life outside of any romantic relationship, whether it is school, work, friends, a fitness routine, or your family. Set clear boundaries with the individual and communicate to this person your need to be your own independent person. Once the boundaries have been discussed, stick to them.
4. Take on responsibilities
Being Independent needs you to take on responsibilities that you’d earlier lay on others, all through out. You need to be involve with your duties and make your share to the society. Try and invest in the well being of your fovourite ones. Don’t you think, it is necessary to be independent?
5. Doing your own chores
Before you want all the freedom and liberty, stop asking your mom to cook for you, or your friends to do your work, start doing your own chores, have a routine, follow a target plan, learn how to drive. It is important that you know how to do stuff on your own, so that you never need anybody to come in and help you out for minimal needs.
6. Loving the right way
We all love our partners, our parents, but love is an emotion and being independent does not come with being too emotional in your life, you love everybody that is dear to you. But you need to stop depending on your partners and figure out your way of life, decide what you want for your life to be and enjoy your preferences. Ask them for advices, sure but never let go of your dreams.
7. Being proud of who you are
It is very important that you realize, that your own individual self is the best that you could be, and never be ashamed of yourself, be proud of who you are, and let everyone know. Show confident and sparkle all throughout life. Always aim to be better than yesterday, but do not let negative criticism grill you.
8. Less reliance on others
Less independent individuals tend to rely so much on others. This may be because they do not want to have to make choices for themselves or they feel too shy to go through challenges in their life without somebody by their side. This character makes you appear overly needy. Being a little more independent will be much appreciated by people and they will be willing to come to you for help. Being needed or relied upon is what many crave for; this will add some value on you and make you feel important.
9. To marry or not to marry
Do not ever let anyone tell you, that marriage defines you, you define yourself and marriage should be on the cards. when you feel good about it, have a choice to marry or not, it’s totally cool, for you need to be with a person, not others. Do what makes you happy.
10. Learning to travel alone
Don’t fear to travel alone, the biggest task in turning into a self-dependent individual is to figure out a way to travel alone, without any support and having confidence to deal or tackle any problems. Explore different places.
11. Better decision making
Being independent makes decision making an easy task; this is because you have proven to yourself that you are the only person that will be really affected by the decisions you make. On the other hand, being dependent on other people for emotional or financial support makes it difficult to make clear and appropriate decisions; this is because you will always have to stop to think about how the other person will be affected, and how they will react to your decisions. Whereas it is a good idea to consider other people while making decisions, being scared to make choices in fear of upsetting others can greatly hold you back.
12. Living on your own
By this, I mean, get out of the nested environment, by living alone, you’ll learn about the responsibilities one has in his life. You will know more about, how to pay bills, manage money, and yourself, which also gives you confidence.
13. Earning/ having a job
Necessary, most important. All of us have talents, earn, tap on to your talents and get a job, be financially independent, you’ll definitely understand how to manage money and not waste it, you’ll realize the value of money, get to manage your account yourself. Make sure you save and never ask for support. Be capable of supporting yourself
Now, that you know, how to be independent, always remember, you need to know how to take care of yourself. Life is not a bed of roses and it tricks you into its charm a lot. But by being self-dependent, you’d never lose faith and will never fail to satisfy. At the end of the day, you’ll be proud of your choices and would always be secure, for you have the potential. You know you can and so it is necessary to get up on your feet and make the most of the time you have to build yourself up. Your parents are going to be there for you, but you too, have a duty towards the society and yourself, so make sure you fulfill your goals and give your life a definition.
