Sometimes a slow internet connection or WiFi connections feel very annoying and it become more irritating when we couldn’t find any solution to fix it. With slow WiFi, loading websites can take forever, YouTube videos will lag and freeze, and forget about streaming any media. Slow Internet Connection is something that you never want to come across, especially if you’re working on something important or timely.
There can be a number of reasons why your internet connection may be working on speed slower than the actual intended speed. It can be with your router or modem or with your internet service provider also. Tips To Fix Your Slow Internet Connection
1. Check the connection of your router
If you can’t connect to the Internet at all, take a look at your router’s LED status indicators. If there are no lights at all, the router is probably unplugged or powered down. Disconnect the power cord and reconnect it after a minute or two. Make sure that the Power switch is in the On position. If the router still isn’t powering up, you may have a failed power adapter, a faulty power strip, or a fried router. If you have cable or DSL, you should also check that your modem is getting power.
2. Change The Channel
Newer Wi-Fi routers can broadcast in two different frequencies, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Figuring out the best one for your situation can dramatically improve your network’s reach and reliability. If your Wi-Fi connection is spotty, you may be experiencing channel interference. Try changing your Wi-Fi channel using the router management console. If the channel is set to Auto, try setting it to another channel to see if this improves your connection.
3. Check Your Speeds and Your Plan
Sometimes, your internet is slow because you’re only paying for slow internet. Log onto your provider’s website (or give them a call) and find out what plan you have. Then, head on over to Speedtest.net and run a speed test. If the numbers match up to what you’re paying for, then your network is working fine and you’re just paying for slow internet—and the best way to speed it up will be to upgrade. 4. Upgrade Your Router
Not everyone is willing to throw money at this problem, but many people should. Router technology has come a long way in recent years. Getting a new one could improve many situations, especially for people who stick with the gear offered by Internet service providers.

It could be that the problem is on its end and may require a new connection at the pole coming into your house and/or new equipment such as a cable modem or amplifier. If you’re experiencing slowdowns at certain times of the day (think after-school hours) it’s possible that your ISP is simply unable to handle the increased user load in which case you may want to find a new service provider.
7. Find a New Provider
If your ISP can’t help you (maybe they don’t provide the speeds you want, or maybe you’re just sick of their horrible customer service), it’s time to find a new ISP. That may mean you need to switch to a different type of provider, like cable, DSL, satellite, or fiber, so you should do a little research before you pick up the phone.
